Mackle Park
Located at 1361 Andalusia Terrace, Mackle Park offers a community center with meeting rooms, game room, state of the art bocce courts, shuffleboard, covered basketball court, and a multi-purpose playing field. Mackle Park also boasts a 10 acre lake with walking trail and Kid’s Cove, a unique playground. The Parks and Recreation Administrative offices can also be found at Mackle Park. Winterberry Park
Located on Winterberry Drive, Winterberry Park provides the community with a newly renovated softball field, rest rooms, and a mixed use area for soccer/football. A concession stand and new rest room facilities are planned for construction in late 2005.
Tigertail Beach
Located at the western end of Hernando Drive, Tigertail Beach is a Collier County facility and a great venue for bird lovers. Tigertail Beach offers a concession stand, kyak and windsurf rentals, easy beach access, and plenty of parking.
Caxambas Park
Located on South Collier Boulevard, Caxambas Park is another Collier County managed facility and provides Marco Island residents with the only on Island boat launch. Concessions, fuel and a small picnic area are also part of the park’s offerings. Call 642-0004 for more information.
Pocket Parks
Leigh Plummer Park, Veterans Memorial Park, & Jane Hittler Park are considered neighborhood “pocket” parks. These parks are quiet rest stops for walkers, joggers, & cyclists making their way around the island. Jane Hittler Park provides a beautiful view of Smokehouse Bay and is a great place to drop a fishing line and try your luck. Parking is available only at Leigh Plummer Park.
Racquet Center
Located at 1275 San Marco Road, the Marco Island Racquet Center serves up 6 clay courts, 2 hard courts, 2 indoor racquetball courts, a practice wall and a pro-shop. The facilities are open to the public daily. Call 394-5454 for more information.
South Beach Access
Located at the extreme southern end of Marco Island on the corner of South Collier Boulevard and Swallow Avenue, the South Beach Access is accessible to both residents and visitors. Parking can be found on Swallow Avenue for a fee of $4/day.
